So, after much developing I decided to go with something simple and personal so I went with a really great typeface and just made a few personal changes before setting it in my favourite shade of red which I think is quite a timeless colour especially in design.
I wanted to transform my homepage/portal into something interactive to draw people in. Because my main focus at the moment is self branding and creating an image for myself, I'm continuing with the 50's American theme and drew inspiration from a few different areas. I started by illustrating the signs stood outside a lit up diner at night but I decided the diner was too bulky for the front page and was a little distracting from the navigation, so I took some of the elements and made a small desert scene, still using the signs as navigation, but making them more of the centerpiece than a backdrop.
I think the overall effect looks great, especially as an opening image. It still needs developing a bit more and I'm thinking of adding more interactive features in the near future, but for now I'm going to focus on creating a twitter page and mobile site.
Stay Tuned!
I love the logo you decided to go for and as for your website homepage..you got me very jealous! Very appealing and something to be proud of :)
